Nebraska’s Matt Rhule says no disrespect intended by pregame gathering on Buffaloes’ logo

Nebraska Cornhuskers head coach Matt Rhule responded Monday to Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders’ feedback on Nebraska gamers congregating at midfield previous to Saturday’s kickoff. 

“We do it at each stadium,” Rhule stated at his press convention Monday. 

“We go there, we pray for blessings. They got here in. I requested Shedeur if he wished to hope with us.”

Earlier than Colorado defeated the Cornhuskers 36-14 in Week 2, Sanders took offense to the Nebraska workforce assembly on the Buffaloes’ emblem on the 50-yard line.

“I like taking part in towards their (defensive coordinator), however respect stage ain’t there as a result of he disrespected us first.”

Rhule disputed the declare he was being disrespectful, stating that he made certain to shake head coach Deion Sanders’ hand after the sport.

I do know precisely who I’m. I do know precisely who I’m. And I’m teaching this workforce with class, and I’m not altering. I went over there, and I shook that man’s hand, I whispered in his ear. I’ve by no means disrespected an opponent a day in my life. I by no means will.”
