A befriending service that sees individuals feeding birds collectively to fight loneliness is remodeling lives, households say.
Feed the Birds is run by Shropshire Wildlife Belief and has been connecting with remoted individuals for six years.
Volunteers meet shoppers as soon as every week to high up chicken feeders and have a chat.
Louise Poynton stated her 88-year-old stepfather thought the service was “marvellous” and he now “could not stay with out it”.
She stated after he turned poorly he was unable to exit and have become extraordinarily remoted in his bungalow, till he obtained concerned with the programme.
“He’s now letting individuals by means of the door, he isn’t lonely anymore,” she stated, including he “actually cannot wait” for the volunteers to reach to allow them to “discuss birds, canines, life, soccer, Everton – no matter”.
“It is modified his life,” she stated.
The scheme is run by Diane Monether who described it as a “listening service”.
“It is firm, companionship round connections with nation and birds,” she stated.

The organisation is searching for extra volunteers to participate within the scheme.
