Sony has introduced that its PlayStation Portal streaming handheld will launch November 15 with preorders open now.

Introduced on the PlayStation Weblog, Sony revealed the PlayStation Portal shall be launched “in choose markets” on the November date. These are presumably the identical nations the machine is presently obtainable to preorder in: the USA, UK, France, Germany, Austria, Belgium, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Italy, Span, and Portugal.

Whereas the PlayStation Portal is presently solely obtainable to preorder from PlayStation straight, “different choose retailers” in these nations, plus Canada and Japan, will record it for preorder on September 29. Further retailer availability shall be introduced later, Sony stated.

The PlayStation Portal does not work with no PlayStation 5, as not like the Nintendo Swap or PlayStation Vita, no video games are run from the hand held itself. Your complete PS5 system is as an alternative streamed to the machine, letting customers play video games and run different apps as if on the console itself. It retails for $199.99 / £199.99.

In our preview of the machine, IGN stated: “The Portal is unlikely to be somebody’s main solution to play PS5 video games – that’s what your TV is for. However for instances when another person desires to make use of the TV, or possibly you will have small children within the dwelling and don’t need to put God of Warfare on the large display screen, and possibly you simply need to have the ability to play in a special room with out shopping for one other full-on TV. In that state of affairs, the Portal presents a compelling use case.”
