Whyte fails drugs test; Joshua fight cancelled – promoter

Subsequent Saturday’s struggle between British heavyweights Anthony Joshua and Dillian Whyte has been cancelled after Whyte failed a pre-fight medicine check, promoters Matchroom introduced on Saturday.

The bout, Joshua’s newest struggle as he charts his comeback to the highest of the heavyweight division, was meant to happen on the O2 in London on Aug. 12 and would have marked the second time the pair would step into the ring collectively following a December 2015 bout.

Matchroom boxing, who promote each fighters, said in a statement: “As we speak, the Voluntary Anti-Doping Affiliation (VADA) knowledgeable Matchroom, the Affiliation of Boxing Commissions and the British Boxing Board of Management that Dillian Whyte had returned antagonistic analytical findings as a part of a random anti-doping protocol.

“In gentle of this information, the struggle will likely be cancelled, and a full investigation will likely be performed.”
